Veterans Memorial Park benches vandalized

The wooden benches in Veterans Memorial Park are in need of repair following an act of vandalism which took place between Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

While the benches are currently unusable, the City of Medicine Hat confirmed the benches can be repaired with replacement of the wooden slats.

The benches will be removed to undergo repairs, half the benches to start, followed by the remaining.

In total, repairs and re-installation is expected to take three-weeks.

No information has been released regarding a potential investigation into the vandalism and those involved.
