A Saskatchewan man was charged after “repeatedly” stabbing the windows of an RCMP detachment in North Battleford after officers declined his request to drive him to Lloydminster, a release from that province’s RCMP command stated Tuesday.

The roundup of law enforcement activity over the previous week states the unnamed man approached the counter of the detachment at about 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 7 to request the ride. After exiting the building he allegedly produced the knife and inflicted minor damage to the windows. He was arrested and charged with mischief, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of a dangerous weapon. No one was injured.

Fatal crash

A three-year-old girl was pronounced dead after a mini-van and SUV collided four kilometres south of Kerrobert on Sask. Highway 21 at 9:45 a.m. on Feb. 8.

The female driver of the mini-van was admitted to hospital and another youth in the minivan was airlifted with “serious” injuries while the driver of the SUV was treated at the scene.

A man with connection to Medicine Hat who was the subject of an arrest warrant in Kindersley was arrested in Biggar, Sask., on Feb. 7.

Derek Seefried, 26, was wanted after police say he and a female accomplice drove away from a police stop in a silver BMW on Feb. 3 in Rosetown, allegedly ramming two police cars in the process.

He is charged with break and enter with intent, assault with a weapon and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

In the original release RCMP stated the man was known to frequent the Eston, Biggar and Kindersley areas, as well as Medicine Hat.
