Family Day Fest at Big Marble Go Centre still free, but tickets required

The Big Marble Go Centre doors will be open once again for a free Family Day Fest, but anyone interested will need a ticket this year. Free tickets will be available starting Feb. 13 at tixx.ca. A City of Medicine Hat news release says the tickets will help the team manage resources and staffing needs more efficiently. On Feb. 20, the doors open at noon and the family-friendly fun runs from 1-4 p.m. Here are all of the different activities families can take part in on Family Day. Swimming & Wibit Sports Aqua Track Patrons will be required to have a ticket for the two swim times throughout the day, swim times are regulated to maintain capacity levels. Swimmers must be eight years or older to try the Wibit Aqua Track. 1-2:15 p.m. and 2:45-4 p.m. Public Skating Public skating is happening at the Big Marble ice rink from 1-4 p.m., courtesy of Big Marble Farms. The ice will be resurfaced at 2:15 p.m., giving young skaters a chance to watch the Zamboni at work, with skating starting back up at 2:45 p.m. Family Nerf Wars All patrons will be required to have a ticket for the three NERF time slots throughout the day. At the admission desk, patrons will be asked to select one of three playing times to guarantee their spot: 1-1:50 p.m.: Family Nerf Wars #2 – Fieldhouse 2 2-2:50 p.m.: Family Nerf Wars #3 – Fieldhouse 2 3-3:50 p.m.: Family Nerf Wars #4 – Fieldhouse 2 Blasters are supplied while supplies last, and all ages are welcome. Other activities occur for the duration of the event: Inflatable Alley – Fieldhouse 1 Bounce around on inflatable obstacle courses, slides and jumping castles from Dunmore Dugout. Tot Time – Gymnasium Preschool-aged children will have a blast exercising their gross motor muscles! Floor Hockey – Gymnasium Big kids and adults can show off their dekes and dangles in Quadrant 4 of the gymnasium. Yard Games – Gymnasium Puzzles, Games and Play Doh – Playroom The South Country Co-op Fitness Centre on the second floor will be open for regular use.
