Strathmore speeder was also breaking bail conditions

Police in Strathmore say a motorist pulled over for driving 148 kilometres per hour on Highway 22X was also breaking bail conditions and had a passenger who was under house arrest and subject to a warrant.

The RCMP detachment in the town states that on Dec. 8, an officer observed the vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop north of Carseland turned up a fake ID and can of bear spray, police allege.

Sean Brooks, 36, of Calgary, was charged with two counts of possessing forged documents and other government documents, possessing a dangerous weapon, and possession of a controlled substance.

He was held in custody to appear in court on an unspecified date.
