AHS expands online assessment to cover flu, RSV

Alberta Health Services has expanded capabilities of its online COVID-19 assessment tool to now cover a range of respiratory illnesses, including influenza and RSV.

AHS medical officer of health Kristin Klein says the update was conducted with the aim of “(ensuring) that the guidance we provide to adults and parents is reflecting the current reality of the mix of viruses this respiratory illness season.”

The free assessment tool can be accessed on computers and mobile devices at albertahealthservices.ca/topics/Page17058.aspx.

Anyone without access to the internet may continue to call HealthLink at 811.

AHS encourages Albertans to reduce the potential spread of illnesses by staying at home and away from others if feeling unwell, and recommends immunization against respiratory illnesses like influenza and COVID-19.
