Women’s Shelter walk this afternoon

Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter Society is hosting its eighth annual Family Violence Prevention Month Memorial Walk at 2 p.m. this afternoon.

The public walk will set off from Medicine Hat’s city hall and travel through the downtown as participants tie purple ribbons on trees, light posts and elsewhere in commemoration of individuals whose lives were lost as a result of family violence.

The walk will also kick-off MHWSS’ month-long Family Violence Prevention Month awareness campaign, with events and information sessions planned throughout November.
