The Man Van is making its annual trip to Medicine Hat this week.

An initiative of the Calgary Rockyview Hospital Prostate Cancer Centre, the van is available for any man between the ages of 40 and 60 who wishes to have a PSA blood test.

The test measures the amount of prostate specific antigen in the blood, which is produced by both cancerous and noncancerous tissue.

The Man Van is at London Drugs on Wednesday, 2-6 p.m.

The PSA blood test is the best way to screen for early onset of prostate cancer and is recommended for any man over 40 years of age.

“Get there early though, last year it was a mob with people coming in from Saskatchewan and surrounding area to get their blood test done,” said Philip Buisseret, chairman of the Medicine Hat and Area Prostate Cancer Support Society.
