Milk River Health’s Centre’s emergency department is facing another temporary closure beginning Friday at 8 a.m., through the weekend, with reopening scheduled for Sept. 12 at 8.a.m. The closure, brought on by physician shortages, is one of several to affect Milk River’s emergency department since the beginning of the year. Alberta Health Services said in a statement it is working to address the issue. Nursing staff will remain on site to care for inpatients throughout the weekend. Anyone in need of medial care in the Milk River area during this time will be transported to Lethbridge’s Chinook Regional Hospital. 4
