https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews In-person voting for the new United Conservative leader will take place in Taber on Oct. 6 – a location covering the southern district of the province, including Medicine Hat and Lethbridge. That is among five in-person polling places receiving ballots from 8 a.m. to noon that day. It falls three days after the Oct. 3 deadline for the party to receive mail-in ballots which were sent to qualified members on Sept. 2. The results will also be announced the same day, between 6 and 8 p.m. at the BMO Centre in Calgary. Other polling places are in Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer and Slave Lake. Party members may vote at any station. The winner of the contest will become leader of the party and by extension the new premier of Alberta. 8
