Cypress County municipal planning commission OKs several build permits

Major permits approved by the Cypress County municipal planning commission include a new Hutterite school, a new warehouse to house a battery storage at a planned solar facility and more self storage facility in Dunmore.

Chappice Lake Solar GP had planned to place 55 storage container-sized battery units at its planned solar power station near Township Road 150 northeast of Medicine Hat. It will now erect a 12,600 square-foot accessory building to shield the units from the elements.

The application also allows the company to alter the construction laydown yard at the site.

The Borderland Hutterite Brethren colony will be permitted to build a 210-foot by 60-foot school building on land near Range Road 11 and Township Road 170, northeast of the Hamlet of Schuler.

Rhino Storage was issued a permit to build an additional 6,600-square-foot structure related to its self-storage operations on Second Street in Dunmore.
