Empress vacant council byelection candidates revealed

Empress has produced a large crop of candidates to fill its village council that was left completely vacant by resignations this spring.

The village in Special Areas No. 2 has been operated by a provincially appointed administer until a byelection can be held on Aug. 8.

Seven residents filed nomination papers on nomination day on Monday, July 11.

They are (in alphabetical order) Kelly Burgess, Leo Hensel, Arlen Johnston, Dawna Martin, Laureann Patterson, Yvonne Robertson and Neal Sunderland.

Three position are elected.
