Redcliff RCMP investigating fatal crash

Redcliff RCMP are investigating a car crash that killed one man and injured another near the Hamlet of Schuler on Thursday night.

At 6:47 p.m., RCMP received a call for a serious collision involving a semi tractor-trailer and a motor vehicle on Highway 41 between Township Roads 160 and 163.

Police say the semi tractor-trailer was hauling flammable liquid which caused a significant risk to the public and resulted in the highway being closed in both directions for several hours as the RCMP Collision Reconstructionist investigated the scene and clean up was completed.

The 29-year-old male driver from Alberta who was the sole occupant of the passenger vehicle was deceased on scene. The 64-year-old driver of the semi tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries.
