Teacher accused of sexual assault, exploitation has prelim hearing in August

A local teacher accused of sexual exploitation will see the matter go to a preliminary hearing on Aug. 15.

Rebecca McCubbin was charged with single counts of sexual assault and sexual exploitation in December 2021, and pleaded not-guilty on both charges in February.

On Wednesday, a date was fixed to hold a one-day preliminary hearing to determine if the matter will proceed to trial, which would be held by judge alone.
