Echo Dale access limited this week with hot air balloon festival

By Medicine Hat News on May 26, 2022.

Access to Echo Dale Regional Park will likely be limited this week as a result of the Rise Up Hot Air Balloon Festival, which begins today and runs through Sunday.

A Wednesday release from the city says public parking and accessible parking stalls will be available at the swim centre and overflow areas, while volunteer parking attendants will be present to help direct and assist visitors.

The Echo Dale lookout point will be inaccessible through Monday.

The main festival and balloon launches will be held at the east end of Echo Dale, and as such vehicle access to that area will be restricted.

Due to limited parking, the city is encouraging attendees to use the Herital Trail Network to access the park.

The boating lake is available for use, and will be stocked with rainbow trout on Friday, while Echo Dale Farm and the swim lake will open for the summer on Saturday.
