ER in Milk River schedules overnight closure due to physician shortage

Due to a lack of on-site physicians, the Milk River Health Centre’s emergency department will be temporarily closed from 5 p.m. May 17 to 8 a.m. May 18, AHS said in a Tuesday release.

Anyone seeking emergency medical care in the region during these times will be transferred to Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge. Anyone in need of non-emergency care is asked to contact their family physician or Health Link by calling 811.

Nursing staff will remain on-site at MRHC, to care for inpatients.
