A Cypress County resident is charged with more than a dozen offences after police seized a number of weapons from a vehicle she was driving near Bassano.
The Brooks RCMP says Alberta Sheriffs pulled over the vehicle on Wednesday after receiving a complaint of a potentially impaired driver.
They say the driver provided a false name and was arrested before a search found a loaded .22 sawed-off rifle and sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun, along with more ammunition, a stun gun and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Cecily Rae Mathers, 27, is charged with nine weapons offences, obstruction, traffic offences and two counts of failing to comply with release conditions. She is due to answer the charges in Medicine Hat Provincial Court on May 13.
James Devon Showers, 30, of Edmonton also faces nine weapons-related charged. He is set to appear in Brooks Provincial Court on June 15.
