Public hearing on zoning change is June 6, not end of May

An incorrect date was included in an article in a recent edition of the News regarding a proposed new land classification.

A “high-density mixed-use” zone would allow developers to construct buildings taller than six storeys in intensification areas when ground floor commercial space is paired with residential suites above.

The article included an incorrect date for a public hearing required before the classification can be added to the city’s land-use bylaw. No zoning would change as a result, but applications for zoning changes would be allowed if the change is adopted.

The hearing will take place at the June 6 meeting of city council, rather than later in May as was stated.
