Raising funds to cure Type-1 diabetes is a walk in the park this weekend

Hatters will join in a walk this weekend to help in the effort to find a cure for Type-1 diabetes.

The local chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will host all participants to the Sun Life sponsored event on Sunday at Kin Coulee bandshell, beginning at 11 a.m.

Speakers and a food truck frenzy are scheduled alongside the walk which will raise funds to help find a cure for the disease. Other family friendly offerings are also planned.

Participants are encouraged to park at lots on Kipling Street and access the bandshell loop via the pedestrian bridge.
