The team at Keys to Hope Counselling Services had a lot to celebrate Friday.
As well as joining in Mental Health Awareness Week activities and being named Shop YXH’s business of the week, the team also hosted an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony.
Although the practice has existed in Medicine Hat for the past nine years, owners Melisha Franks and Deena West had never held an official opening ceremony.
“The ribbon cutting today is not just an opening of our doors, but a reflection of where we’ve grown from,” West told the News. City councillors Andy McGrogan and Allison Knodel were at the opening ceremony to show their support. “I have a soft spot for this type of work,” McGrogan said. “A lot of people have experienced trauma through their life. And I know how important it is to always support this type of work.”
Keys to Hope offers individual, group and couples counselling services for all ages. Frank and West welcome the community to visit their practice and meet their team.
“It’s a welcoming, safe space to share and express yourself,” West said.
