A 40-year-old man is dead after his car hit a power pole on S. Railway Street late onSunday, police say.
Medicine Hat Police Service said Monday the westbound Honda Civic collided with the pole shortly after 10 p.m. on April 24. The lone occupant was fatally injured.
The crash knocked out power to a large portion of the Flats area and wider community.
City electrical crews were replacing the damaged pole on Monday morning, causing a detour around the location near the Canadian Pacific spur line crossing. Damage was estimated at $30,000. The name of the driver was not released.
