Cypress County Community Fund launch goes May 26

An official launch in honour of the Cypress County Community Fund, operating through the Community Foundation of Southeast Alberta, will be held May 26 at Sunrise Park in Dunmore.

The launch will allow interested individuals to learn more about the rural fund and meet members of the newly established advisory committee, which includes chair Gerald Sept, Barry Neubauer, Brandon Wever, Cathy Schnell, Dan Hamilton, Della Burkitt, Michelle McKenzie, Richard Oster and Travis Tubman.

CFSEA executive director Niki Gray is excited to formally introduce the fund to the community it serves.

“The Cypress County Community Fund was established in 2021 to serve the unique needs within the county,” Gray said in a statement Friday. “Donations made to the fund will support local charities forever.”

The launch begins at 5:30 p.m. A barbecue dinner will be served. Registration is required and can be done by contacting CFSEA via email at admin@cfsea.ca or phone at 403-527-9038 before May 23.
