Balloon foils power for 350 Hatters

A foil balloon caused more than 350 addresses to lose power on March 25, when it connected with a power line near Kingsway Avenue.

After one unsuccessful attempt to remove the balloon, crews were able to restore power to the area approximately two hours after the initial contact.

In light of the incident, the city is asking residents to remain aware if using foil balloons outside or ensure they remain indoors.
