Porter up for CMT video award in the collaborative category

MacKenzie Porter has earned a nomination for a CMT video award, the first for the Medicine Hat-raised country singer and songwriter.

She is one of 10 first-time nominees for the awards, which will be broadcast live for the first time ever on U.S. network CBS Television on April 11.

Porter is nominated for her combination with Dustin Lynch in the song and video “Thinking ‘Bout You” in the “collaborative video of the year” category.

Also nominated in the class are offerings from Nelly and Florida Georgia Line, Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean, among seven entries.

Winners are determined by fan voting that is now open.

Artist Kane Brown led all nominees, announced March 16, with 10.
