https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Police say they recovered a loaded semi-automatic rifle after they searched a vehicle on Saturday night. A release from the Medicine Hat Police Service states officers pulled over a car with malfunctioning tail lights and observed the occupants attempting to reach under the seats. Police determined the driver was in breach of a previous release condition, and arrested him. A subsequent search found a sawed-off, .22-calibre rifle and a bag containing two full face masks and a retractable baton. Tyler Figley, 38, and Ashley Gackle, 44, both of Medicine Hat, face unspecified charges including possession of a prohibited weapon. Busy St. Pats Local police say they put a focus on drinking establishments as they hosted full capacity St. Patrick’s Day parties, including removing a man from a bar after he allegedly brandished a large knife. Authorities were also busy with other files. Police arrested a man on the afternoon of March 17 after bear spray was set off on a city bus. A release states officers believe he signalled the bus to stop in the area of Kingsway Ave and Allowance Avenue then turned open the canister as he left. A 32-year-old man has been charged. Three teens have been charged with assaulting a staff member at the Big Marble Go Centre who had told a group of youths to leave the facility. All three face a single count of assault, while one is additionally charged with causing a disturbance. 12
