As the wind continues to blow, the City of Medicine Hat is sharing tips with residents on how to best secure standing garbage carts.
Residents are encouraged to record the number of the cart, so it can easily be identified if blown away. Residents can also write their home address on the cart, so it can be easily returned.
On windy days, the city recommends setting the carts outside on pickup morning, rather than the night before, and collecting the cart as soon as possible after pickup, as empty carts are more likely to blow away.
