South Ridge YMCA handing out test kits, masks

Medicine Hat’s South Ridge YMCA will be distributing free rapid testing kits and KN95 masks on a first come, first served basis beginning Feb. 10.

“Throughout the challenges of the pandemic the YMCA has been here and we will continue to be here for our community,” CEO Sharon Hayward, said in a statement Wednesday. “Providing this service is one way we are fulfilling our mission to ensure Medicine Hat is a healthy community now and in the future.”

The kits and masks, provided by the Canadian Red Cross, will be available at the south entrance of the building.

Each individual will be provided with one mask and one rapid test kit, which contains 25 tests. Personal health numbers are not required, however individuals picking up a mask and test kit on behalf of someone not present must show a health card belonging to that individual.

Pickup times are as follows:

Feb. 10, 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Feb. 11, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Feb. 14, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Feb. 15, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Feb. 16, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Feb. 17, 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Feb. 18, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
