https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Wind gusts in Medicine Hat peaked at 94 kilometres per hour at 3 p.m. on Monday, an hour after RCMP in Coaldale and Taber advised against travel on Highway 3 due to high wind and visibility issues caused by dust. Power throughout much of Brooks was knocked out for a period of time at 2 p.m. on Monday afternoon as wind swept into the region. About 2,000 homes were affected, according to Fortis Alberta. That was restored in about 30 minutes, but power remained out in the hamlet of Tilley into the late afternoon. Convoy crash Three vehicles collided near a slow-moving protest convoy along the Trans-Canada Highway near Brooks on Saturday afternoon. Mounties says one pickup truck collided with another and a resulting collision sheared the wheel off a farm tractor that was also travelling on the highway. That wound up with two vehicles in the ditch, and two occupants of one truck sent to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the farm equipment has minor injuries. The RCMP investigation is ongoing. 10
