kking@medicinehatnews.com Tarryn McNaughton, owner of Broken Diamond Equine, a local equine assisted learning organization, is hoping to spread the love this Valentine’s Day by giving cards to seniors in Medicine Hat and Weyburn. “Since it’s the middle of winter and not much happens in the cold weather, I thought it would be a good way to bring people together (and) reach out to seniors who may be stuck indoors,” McNaughton told the News. McNaughton is inviting the community to donate Valentine’s cards or drawings, which she will deliver to seniors facilities. “(It’s about) a sense of connection and… just that sense they’re giving a smile to someone,” said McNaughton. “For the people receiving it, just to know someone out there cares enough to make a card and has thought about them for Valentine’s Day.” Cards can be dropped off at Medicine Hat Hearing Centre or Barber Motors in Weyburn or emailed to McNaughton at info@brokendiamond.ca. 7
