Montana cases rise as 3,000th death recorded

Hill County, Mont. recorded 133 new cases of COVID-19 over the last two reporting days, bringing the total identified active cases in the area next to Cypress County, Alta. to 156.

The area including the Town of Havre saw 71 cases added on Monday, adding to 62 on Jan. 28.

The state of 1.1 million residents recorded its 3,000th death from COVID since the pandemic began in the spring of 2020, as well as its 11,000th hospitalization.

About 220,000 cases are considered recovered, while 18,600 cases are active with 310 of hose patients in hospital.

A listing of other major Montana centres’ active case totals, including those in the respective surrounding county: Billings (3,622 active cases), Missoula (2,913 active cases), Great Falls (1,998), Kalispell (1,451), Helena (1,279), Bozeman (964) and Butte (808).
