Alberta’s Community Initiative Program is providing funding to non-profit organizations across the province through the Project-Based grant.

The grant will provide a total of $1.9 million to 50 organizations, with each organization receiving a maximum amount of $75,000.

Ideal candidates are organizations which work to meet critical community needs and positively impact various groups or individuals within the community.

“These diverse community projects benefit Albertans in countless ways by reducing social isolation, fostering community connectivity and supporting local economic growth,” Minister of Culture Ron Orr said in a statement Wednesday.

The statement confirmed $4 million has been allocated to more than 100 projects during the current fiscal year.

There are three application deadlines throughout the year with the next scheduled for May 15, then Sept. 15.
