Global Helium Corp. announced Monday it has proceeded with a 50-kilometre seismic testing program near Swift Current this month that could double and expand this spring to inform a 2022 drilling program.

Last November, the exploration company announced it had acquired exploration rights to a 1.2 million acres of “helium fairway” across southern Saskatchewan. That is broken into three main operating areas, including Swift Current, Regina and the Southeast, as well as areas close to the Montana border south of the Cypress Hills.

In that same area, North American Helium announced it raised $127 million in equity financing in late 2021 toward its coming capital plan for the new year.

That firm has operations in the Battle Creek area and last year opened a $30-million concentration facility near Climax.

Royal Helium commenced its drilling program near Climax in December.

In other jurisdictions, Avanti Energy announced Monday it reached final depth near 5,800-feet at its project well near Knappen, Mont.

In Alberta, First Helium announced it had commenced light oil sales on Jan. 11 from a helium well it drilled near Worsley in northwest Alberta. It plans to complete an oil battery their this spring and also act on new rights it secured in that area last fall.
