Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner MP Glen Motz is urging local not-for-profits and eligible employers to take action and apply for funding through the 2022 Canada Summer Jobs program. The program aims to provide Canadians between 15-30 years old with summer work experience and the opportunity to develop within the not-for-profit, small business and public sectors, according to a release from the MP’s office. “Now is the time for Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner not-for-profit organizations and eligible employers to apply for funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program,” Motz says in the release. “By hiring a young person, you will be helping young Canadians develop their skills and gain valuable workplace experience. Canada’s prosperity increasingly depends on young Canadians getting the education and experience they’ll need to start their careers.” The application window for the Canada Summer Jobs program will remain open until Jan. 25. Employers interested in applying for funding can submit applications electronically through an online form or the Grants and Contributions Online Service.
