The local Rotary Ignite club will put on its second annual Christmas Convoy for seniors on Monday. The convoy will depart Kin Coulee at 6:15 p.m. and make its way around to all the seniors’ homes in the city to spread Christmas cheer. In a media release on Tuesday, club president Teresa Schile said after last year’s success they were looking forward to putting on another convoy this year. The Rotarians are encouraging Hatters to decorate their own vehicles and join the convoy. Anyone wanting to participate is asked to meet at the Kin Coulee and lineup around the Band Shelter Loop at 6 p.m. “Anyone can join the convert … we think it will be an especially fun for families who have young children,” Schile said. “The kids will enjoy seeing the big trucks traveling with us … We think it’s important to engage our city’s youth in supporting our seniors, especially during this time of increased isolation.” The Rotary Ignite club has a route shared on its Facebook event page: @rotaryignite. They will also be using a live tracker froth the Glimpse app on Monday night. 7
