Saskatchewan man killed in vehicle parked on highway side

A Shaunavon man was killed when the vehicle he was parked in was struck on the side of a highway south of Gull Lake on Nov. 25.

Swift Current RCMP officers believe an SUV struck the vehicle, killing the 76-year-old and injuring an adult female passenger. She was transported to hospital, along with the driver of the SUV, with non-life-threatening injuries.

Taber break-in

A Medicine Hat man was arrested in Taber on Nov. 14 after police there say he broke into the same business twice.

Taber Police service told the Taber Times, that Jason Friesen, 34, was arrested at the business after officers surrounded the fenced compound and the Hat resident surrendered. They believe he committed a similar break-in at the site three days earlier.

Friesen is charged with two counts of breaking and entering and possession of a controlled substance. He is due to appear in Taber Provincial court on Dec. 9.
