The Kiwanis Club’s longstanding Christmas Dinner for those alone during the Holidays will not run again this year. The Kiwanis Club of Medicine Hat, The Kiwanis Club of Medicine Hat Golden K and The Kiwanis Club of Medicine Hat Gas City announced in a group statement Thursday they will not be putting on their “Christmas Dinner for those that are alone.” In the press release, the Kiwanis clubs cite the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting Alberta Health rules and regulations for the cancellation. “Rather than try to put on an event that would most likely not meet the expectations or needs of many in the community, we have collectively decided that we should cancel the event for the second year in a row,” the statement reads. The Kiwanis clubs say they hope they will be able to put this event on next year as they say it is an event the community needs and they want to fulfil that need. 6
