A Medicine Hat man wanted in connection to a violent assault in the city last week has been apprehended in Calgary while local police are still searching for his alleged partner.
Jeremiah Amero was taken into custody Wednesday by the Calgary Police Service, seven days after the Medicine Hat Police Service said the 31-year-old was wanted in connection with a “high-risk incident” in the city’s Southwest Hill community.
At the same time, police said that Amero and another man, 42-year-old Chad Richard Lentz, were driving a 2014 black Mercedes, model GKL, Alberta license plate “CJF-5736.”
Amero is facing charges of aggravated assault and weapons offences.
Lentz is still wanted on charges of aggravated assault and is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with knowledge of his whereabouts should call 9-1-1.
