https://www.medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Grocery store workers will vote this week on a contract offer that could avert a province-wide strike at Superstore locations. About 6,700 workers represented by the United Food and Commercial Workers, No. 401, have been without a contract since August 2018, including several hundred in Medicine Hat. Earlier this month, a separate vote of union members showed 97% supported a strike mandate. Last week, the union stated an improved offer from the company would go to a ratification vote. Voting will take place in centres across Alberta starting Tuesday. In-person voting in Medicine Hat will proceed at the Holiday Inn Express on Strachan Bay, Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. 7
