Two seniors were taken to hospital Thursday after the motorcycle they were riding collided with a pickup truck between Medicine Hat and Dunmore, the Redcliff RCMP reported.

The truck was entering Highway 1 from a service road when the collision occurred at about 12:40 p.m.

The couple, reportedly in their 60s, was transported to Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with unknown injuries, according to the RCMP, while the 39-year-old male driver of the truck was given a ticket for failing to proceed safely into an intersection.

Death not suspicious

Medicine Hat police report they have determined a women’s death in the Crestwood area on Wednesday was non-criminal in nature and there is no risk to the public.

Officers were on the scene of the single-family home from early morning until the afternoon before telling the News they would require the medical examiner to determine the cause of death. They announced Thursday morning via social media that they considered the death not to be suspicious and no further information would be released.
