On Wednesday afternoon, students in six schools across the Medicine Hat Public School Division participated in a virtual forum for mayoral candidates.

Mrs. Gale’s Grade 6 class at Ken Sauer School hosted the forum, and approximately 250-300 students took part. Over the course of one-hour forum, mayoral candidates Ted Clugston, Linnsie Clark, Tony Leahy and Alan Rose each introduced themselves and explained their values. They then spent time answering questions submitted by the students.

“(The) Grade 6 students are learning about democracy and municipal government, so this election was very timely for (them) to be able to have some first-hand experience engaging with the election process,” Gale said.
