Updated: Police say sudden death in Crestwood is “non-criminal” in nature

Police in Medicine Hat has announced a sudden death investigation in the community of Crestwood on Wednesday has determined the women’s death was not criminal in nature and there is no risk to the public.

Police and forensic investigators spent hours at a house near the intersection of 17th Street and 17th Avenue SE on Wednesday morning. A late day statement from authorities to the News stated investigators were awaiting a determination from the medical examiners office on the cause of death.

Officers arrived at the scene before 7 a.m., according to neighbours. They cordoned off a single-family home, side lane and back yard, but released the scene in the late afternoon.
