Total cases also approached 150,000 in the state with a population of 1.1 million residents. Closest to southeast Alberta, two new deaths were reported in Hill County and Havre, where 16 new cases brought active cases to 142. Deaths there now total 52 in the area that comprises about 13,000 residents. The state reported 1,332 new cases on Sept. 29, just six shy of Montana’s single-day record set on Nov. 16, 2020. Active cases total 11,981 while 2,001 people have died. 6
