This Saturday, Southland Volkswagen is hosting First Responder’s Day at the Medicine Hat Mall, an event which celebrates and supports Medicine Hat and surround area’s first responders.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. but attendees may want to arrive a bit early to get a good view of the Southland Landing Zone, where the HALO Air Ambulance helicopter will touch down.

Once landed, the HALO pilots, including CEO Paul Carolan, will be available for a meet and greet and questions. Medicine Hat Police Service and the local fire department will also have displays and will be offering visitors a chance to see rescue vehicles, including the armoured vehicle and fire trucks, up-close. There will be opportunities to speak with members of Cypress County Emergency Services and South Eastern Alberta Search and Rescue as well.

Southland Volkswagen will match all donations for HALO.
