Correction: Former local NDP candidate was a Hatter

A recent article in the News profiling federal NDP candidate Jocelyn Stenger included incorrect information that may have left readers with the wrong impression.

The article stated that Stenger was the second consecutive NDP candidate in the local riding that was a native Hatter, but at the time of the election lived outside the riding.

Stenger grew up in Medicine Hat and currently lives in Edmonton but stated a wish to move back.

The NDP candidate in the 2019 general election, Elizabeth Thomson (now Strange), lived in Medicine Hat for several years prior to that election, having moved back after attending university elsewhere. She has since moved out of town.
