Half the eligible population of Hill County, Mont. is now fully vaccinated from the Coronavirus, figures released Wednesday show.

It brings the county, including Havre, just south of Cypress County, Alta., in line with statewide numbers, but marks only an increase of 141 residents over the last two months.

A total of 6,563 residents of the county were considered fully vaccinated, Montana state health officials said as of Sept. 8., compared to just over 6,400 on July 6.

Over the same period about 350 new cases were positively diagnosed, and active cases now number 112, up from seven two months earlier.

A total of 1,041 new cases were reported Wednesday in Montana, which has a state-wide vaccination rate of 51 per cent.

That marks the most new cases in a single day since Nov. 30, 2020.
