Military vehicles and freight will be moving along highways near CFB Suffield this week and again early next month, a notice from the base states.

Armoured vehicles sent in and out of the region will move south to rail siding at the Trans-Canada Highway, south of Ralston until Wednesday.

The daylight hour operation will also resume from Sept. 1-8 with military police and other personnel controlling traffic.

Base personnel also state the twice yearly shipments involve units from British Army Training Unit Suffield, that are either bound for the United Kingdom or other deployment.

“The remaining fleet of armoured vehicles will be used in support of military training exercises that BATUS is actively planning to host at CFB Suffield in 2022,” it concludes.
