Reusable food wraps are all the buzz, and the Nature Centre at Police Point Park will be helping Hatters make their own later this month.
On Aug. 13, the Nature Centre will be hosting a “Make Your Own Beeswax Food Wraps” event between 9 a.m. and noon. Participants can create their own reusable food wraps for $8 per wrap, with a limit of two per person.
“We recognize that single use plastics are not always a sustainable choice for our environment. So, in an effort to reduce our plastic waste, we will be making beeswax food wraps out of melted beeswax and fabric squares,” reads a release from the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program. “These food wraps are reusable and can be washed many times.”
No registration is required for the drop-in event, however wraps are only available while supplies last.
Anyone looking for more information on the event can call the Nature Line at 403-529-6225.
