Residents at Meadowlands Retirement Residence were able to celebrate Christmas in the summer last week, with a special visit from ol’ Saint Nick himself.

Upon coming down for breakfast, residents were surprised with Christmas decorations and music in the dining room and lobby, as well as a morning filled with holiday cheer.

“There were many tears of joy in the morning, happy smiling faces and “Merry Christmas” wishes ringing through the halls all day,” Meadowlands sales consultant Mariah Czember said in a message to the News.

“We started with a lovely Christmas breakfast, including an orange, candy cane and holiday necklace at each place setting. Later we had a Christmas Bingo and a holiday party with (much missed) live performers and a carol sing-along, followed by an upscale traditional Christmas dinner.”
