Body of drowned man located

The body of a man who drown while helping his children to safety has been found in Lake Diefenbaker, the RCMP in Elbow, Sask. has announced.

On Canada Day, police reported they were searching for the body of the unnamed 36-year-old man who jumped in the water to help a struggling child but did not resurface. The children were safely brought on shore.

On July 22, the Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response team reported that it had located the body of a man which has been positively identified.

The RCMP dive team, Saskatchewan wildlife officials and the Civil Air Search and Rescue Association also took part in the search.
