UCP MLA Mike Ellis is apologizing for an incident that took place during the Associate Minister for Mental Health and Addictions’ visit to Medicine Hat on Tuesday. A picture was taken that included a computer screen containing visible personal information of a patient at an AHS facility. It was then posted on the associate minister’s Twitter account. “This was clearly a mistake and was in no way intentional. The photo was removed once we became aware of the issue,” read the statement. “We take Albertans’ privacy extremely seriously and sincerely apologize for this error. Department officials will review the matter to ensure privacy is protected. We have also notified the Privacy Commissioner of this mistake.” 4
