Ottawa doles out cash to regional communities to track infrastructure needs

Bow Island, Foremost and the County of Forty Mile will receive about $50,000 each from the federal government to help track their infrastructure needs, it was announced on Monday.

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities listed the local projects among 21 in Alberta to buy software, perform inspections and map roads, water pipes and other infrastructure to better manage replacement timelines.

Coaldale and Claresholm in southern Alberta were also among the 21 grant awards, which totalled $985,000.
